Playa del Carmen

Last week we went on a family vacation to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.  Playa is located 45 minutes south of Cancun, and sits on the coast of the Caribbean Sea.  My sister and her husband recently purchased a vacation home there and we were excited to check it out!  Their place is one block back from the ocean and if you walk one more block you reach the main street with all of the shopping and restaurants.  The town is pedestrian friendly and gets a lot of European visitors.  We didn't come across many other Americans.

Despite having a cold, Kira had a great time on her first vacation in another country.  She LOVED the ocean and enjoyed walking through the town each evening.  We ate a lot of good food, including the best (and cheapest) tacos I have ever had, yummy pizza, and seafood fresh off the fishing boats.  We can't wait to go back!
