Cake, Cookies, and Ice Cream - Oh My!

This past weekend we had a ice cream themed birthday party for Kira.  I picked this theme because she loves ice cream and I thought it would be fun to make ice cream cone cupcakes, a special treat for me over the years from my friend, Alexis.  The cupcakes turned out to be a lot easier than last year's panda cake, but there were still some tense moments at the beginning as my 2nd cupcake fell over and went SPLAT on the ground!

Kira invited some girls to her party, and they had a good time playing with dolls, balloons, and the play kitchen.  After chowing down on some pizza and macaroni and cheese (can you guess which little girl was the last one at the table and ate all of her food?!), we ate ice cream cone cupcakes and ice cream sundaes.  The ice cream cone cupcakes were easy for the kids to hold, but we did have a few cones end up on the floor and Kira's cone tipped over with the candle still lit as another girl tried to grab it.  Luckily, I was able to grab it before it set the table on fire - yikes!  :)
