Happy Birthday 2 You!

Kira is 2 years old today!  She is such a blessing in our lives and brings us so much happiness and laughter!  Here is a description of what she is like at this point in her life:

• Loves to read with others and independently and has an attention span of 20-30 minutes


• Talks using sentences of 3 to 4 words


• Able to partially sing familiar songs and recite simple nursery rhymes without assistance


• Can climb up and down stairs without holding on but still prefers to hold a railing or someone's hand


• Loves to have dance parties in the playroom, kitchen, and in the car


• Likes to look for school buses, airplanes, and helicopters while in the car


• Sleeps in a twin size bed and stays in it until Mommy or Daddy comes to let her out of her room


• Enjoys interacting with kids of all ages


• Becoming more aware of others and shows empathy


• Likes talking on the phone to Grandma and Papa


• Knows most of her colors and can count from 1-20 with 90% accuracy


• Usually follows simple instructions


• Favorite foods are pasta, meatballs, baked beans, yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, and fruit


• Has occasional time-outs but responds well to them


• Learning to pet the cat gently and gives her light kisses


• Enjoys silly time with Daddy each evening


• Takes an afternoon nap from 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.


• Sleeps at night from 8:00 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.
