Busy, Busy, Busy

We have been up to a lot (still) and this week is turning out to be just as busy as last week!

Last Thursday we headed to Fair Oaks to meet Lauren, Alek, and Kieran for shopping and lunch.  I didn't find much to buy, but it was still a fun excuse to get out of the house.

On Friday we went to the National Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Carpenter.  We had another close encounter with Tai Shan and got to see the hippo one more time before he goes to another zoo.  The zoo was pretty empty which was very nice.  When we went in the Great Ape House, there was no one in there so it felt like we were having a private viewing of Apes!  Kira's souvenir from this trip was a panda lunch bag (for playgroups).  Grandma Carpenter loves the pandas so it's hard for her to pass up anything with pandas on it!  After the zoo we headed to Georgetown to meet Aunt Liane for lunch.

On Saturday we went to Lake Anna to celebrate Jeff's friend finishing law school and the VA bar exam.  Kira was somewhat grumpy all day because she couldn't take her regular naps, but we still had a fun time.  Kira went on her first boat ride and fell asleep within 3 minutes.

  1. playtime with the twins was fun, but I don't think I don't know how they handle having twins full time

  2. Is Hayden Sad's boy? If not he must have sowed some wild oats someplace....

  4. Hayden is indeed little Sadler and Kathryn-Anne is the Burt's child - odd seeing the next generation of that duo together
