A Birthday Party

This past Saturday we went to Kira's best friend's 1st birthday party.  Here is a little background on her friend, Kieran.  Kieran's mom and I have known each other since elementary school and were college roommates at JMU for all four years.  We both got pregnant (her 2nd child) last year and ended up with the same due dates.

Kieran was born exactly one week before Kira and we had no idea that their names would be so similar!  Chris, Lauren, Alek, and Kieran are leaving next week to go to Abu Dhabi for their next assignment with the State Department.  We are so sad to see them go but we have been trying to make the most of our time together this summer!  Lauren decided to have Kieran's 1st Birthday Party a little early so she would have some pictures (memories) of that special event with friends and family.  Here are some pictures from the party:
