We didn't do anything elaborate, just had some cake after dinner and a couple of small presents. I've had some friends make half-birthday cakes and I think it is a great way to teach young kids the concept of one-half.

2.5
On Tuesday Kira turned two and a half, or as my dad has been teaching her, 2.5. When I was growing up we didn't really celebrate our half birthdays but we plan on doing it now because the kids have birthdays close to Christmas and because I love the excuse to have another celebration!
