The Summer of Water Parks

We have been having a lot of fun at water parks recently.   She is somewhat interested in the other water features and will occasionally want to practice her swimming, but for the most part she is all about the water slides.   I'm worried that if we join a pool next summer Kira will be disappointed when she discovers that it doesn't have a water slide!

The first one we went to was Great Waves Cameron Run.  It's more expensive (probably because it has a wave pool and big water slides) and doesn't have as much for kids so it was probably my least favorite.  They did have my favorite kids' slide though.  Kira spent most of the evening going down the slides on our laps and by the end of our time there was going down by herself.

When we made it to the second water park, Pirate's Cove, Kira had no fear when it came to the water slides.  She even went down a blue tube slide all by herself and wasn't scared one bit!  We had to catch her at the bottom of that one since she wasn't allowed to wear a life vest and it would completely dunk her under the water.  We were able to go back to this water park a few days later with friends.

This past weekend we went to a birthday party at a third water park, The Water Mine.  This park had water slides galore and a lazy river.  I think I liked this one the best, but it was also the farthest from our house.  Kira and Logan weren't too crazy about the lazy river but we had fun watching Grandma get soaked by waterfalls and buckets dumping water as we floated along.

Here is a slideshow of the three water parks, enjoy!

If you're really bored, you can watch the video I shot while going down a big water slide:
